We have another little hedgehog to take care of over this winter. Poor little guy was brung to us after being found on side of road. At first we though he had an injured leg since he didn't want to put any weight on it but after awhile he started to wobble about we think his just struggled to find food and water and there seems to be no injuries of a car hitting him which is lucky. We have weighed him and his seriesly under weight especialy with colder weather on the way so looks like some fattening up is need done. He also had some massive ticks stuck on him (and I mean huge) which we have gotten of and also flead him. his been here 3 days and has picked up quite a lot his not wobbly on his feet and his eating and drinking fine and sleeping lots. So hopefully he will make a good recovery. Though it is a little sad that his on his own it would be nice to have company for him and some to then be later released with but yet I kinda don't wanna say tht because it makes me sound like im saying I want a poorly hedgehog.
This seems to be a reacuring thing tho getting worser due to ppl closing off there gardens and also keeping garden neat and tidy or full conceriting and slabbing them
so the hedgehogs have no were to go. We are lucky to have a over grown patch on land at the back of us for wildlife and we leave gaps in our fence like little hedgehog doors
and we get the odd one or so coming every so often.
